Whether you’re working with a marketing agency, content creator, or another member of your team, YouTube lets you securely share channel access without giving away your Google account password.
Here’s an easy step-by-step guide on how to invite a partner to your YouTube channel.
Step 1: Open YouTube Studio
Go to the YouTube homepage and click your profile image in the top right corner. From the menu that appears, select YouTube Studio.

Step 2: Find Settings
Once you’re in YouTube Studio, find Settings in the bottom left corner of your screen and click it.

Step 3: Go to Permissions and Click “Invite”
From the Settings menu, select Permissions. Then, click Invite in the top right corner of your settings menu.

Step 4: Enter the User’s Email and Select an Access Level
Enter the email address of the person you want to give access to your YouTube channel.
Next, select the appropriate access level. Different roles give users different levels of control over your channel, so it’s important to choose one that matches what they need to do. We explain each option below.

Step 5: Invite Your Partner
After you enter the correct email address and select an access level, click Done, then Save.
YouTube will send an invitation to the new user. Once they accept it, they’ll be able to access your channel with the permissions you selected.
Choosing the Right Access Level
Manager
Managers can view everything, manage permissions, go live, and create, edit, and delete content.
This role is best for business owners, marketing managers, or trusted partners who need full control of the channel.
Editor
Editors can view everything, go live, and create and edit content. However, they can’t manage permissions or delete content.
This role is ideal for employees, agencies, or content creators who manage channel content but don’t need to control channel permissions.
Editor (limited)
Editors with limited access have the same permissions as an Editor but can’t view revenue data.
This role works well for freelancers or agencies that need to upload, edit, and manage content without access to revenue information.
Subtitle editor
Subtitle Editors can add, edit, and remove subtitles, but don’t have access to other areas of the channel.
This role is best for translators or accessibility specialists who are only responsible for subtitles.

Viewers can see channel information but can’t create, edit, or delete content.
This role is useful for team members or partners who need to review channel activity and performance without making changes.
Viewer (limited)

This role is suitable for people who need read access to your channel without access to financial information.
